Wind Energy
 | | Wind Energy is a pollution-free, sustainable form of energy to generate electricity. Modern wind energy machines producing electricity are most often referred to as "wind turbines." Wind turbines convert the kinetic energy present in the moving air into a useful form of mechanical energy and finally into electricity using a generator. The amount of potential energy present at a wind farm location depends primarily on wind speed but is also affected by air temperature, barometric pressure, and altitude.
Despite other influences, the power and energy output of a wind turbine increases dramatically as the wind speed increases. Therefore, it is most cost-effective to build wind farms in the windiest locations.
